New reports are claiming a new AC/DC album, featuring Axl Rose, should be released sometime in 2018.
One of Australia’s most respected music writers, Murray Engleheart, who wrote the books AC/DC Maximum Rock and Roll: The Ultimate Story of the World’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band in 2006 and Blood, Sweat and Beers: Oz Rock from the Aztecs to Rose Tattoo in 2010 reported that AC/DC will continue with Axl Rose.
Engleheart wrote: “Speculate all you want but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: AC/DC will continue with Axl on vocals – new album, touring, the whole nine yards. What was a massive gamble by Angus [Young] turned out to be an equally enormous triumph that has set the scene for the future.”
The report reads: “With Guns N’ Roses dates running through until September, it is expected that the next AC/DC album with Axl Rose won’t be ready until 2018.”
“The chemistry between Axl Rose and Angus Young has inspired Angus to start planning another AC/DC record but Guns N’ Roses touring commitments throughout 2017 will make it difficult to finalize the project.”
Despite the departures of bass player Cliff Williams and the retirement of Brian Johnson, Angus has apparently vowed that AC/DC will continue.
