Red Hot Chili Peppers gave a surprise Halloween performance at a Californian school yesterday (31st October).

Wearing rather fetching Halloween costumes, the band rocked up during the Great Pumpkin Day Assembly at Viewpoint School in Calabasas, California where drummer Chad Smith’s children attend.

In front of an audience of three to 18-year-olds, Red Hot Chili Peppers powered through a typically energetic performance of ‘Can’t Stop’ from their 2002 album ‘By The Way’.

In an interview with the New York Post earlier this autumn, Anthony Keidis confirmed that Red Hot Chili Peppers have commenced work on their 12th studio album.

Their last studio album ‘The Getaway’ dented the UK album chart at no.2 when it was released in June 2016.

Last month, Red Hot Chili Peppers covered the seminal Jimi Hendrix classic ‘Purple Haze’ for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s annual charity bash.
